How can I help?
I am a family mediator and also co-mediate with other mediators to provide clients with help managing the end of their couple relationship, negotiating their separation and divorce and making the best possible arrangements for their children. Couples will need to continue to parent cooperatively and mediation can provide a safe and supportive environment to review child arrangements to ensure the children’s best interests are kept in mind at all times.
As family mediators, we recognise that divorce is not just the end of a legal contract. It is the end of a complex relationship between two people. It can be very difficult to make decisions about housing, finance, pensions, possessions and children when managing both our own turbulent feelings, as well as those of our partner and family, and couples often need to work through these endings together to be able to move on to life after marriage. As a very experienced relationship counsellor and psychotherapist, I can help you with these painful conversations.
I also work as a couples and family therapist, specialising in helping couples understand the difficulties they are having in their relationship; occasionally, couples step back from separation and undertake some couples counselling, especially if they have not had counselling before. As a family therapist, my work is focused on working with separating and separated parents to help them understand the impact of their interactions on their children, and to help them improve their co-parenting relationship.

Experience and qualifications
I qualified as a Couples and Family Psychotherapist in 2004 after many years as a science teacher. I worked for Relate and in private practice with couples, young people and families experiencing problems ranging from poor communication to domestic abuse. I extended my work into Family Mediation in 2014 and trained with the Family Mediators’ Association. I am accredited by the Family Mediation Council as both a Family Mediator dealing with all issues, and a Child Consultant (Child Inclusive Mediator), working with children of separating parents, as part of Family Mediation and the Collaborative Law process.
